Background

Karos Medical Systems was initiated in August 1997. Karos Medical Systems was initially started by Karthy Marajh selling domestic diagnostic and monitoring equipment to the public sector. Prior, during and after 1997 Roshan Marajh worked for various medical companies. He was to introduce a relatively new concept in the medical market, medical imaging in a General Practitioner’s practice, ultrasound.

Since 1992, he worked for Quikmed, Elmed and later Istromed. Due to his faith, persistence and service in the market, his name became synonymous with Ultrasound. Unfortunately, Istromed went into liquidation in 2001.

With a wealth of knowledge and a hungry, faithful market, he opted to take a partner and open his own company, Romic Medical Systems. The company flourished. In February 2006 there was a change in partnership and Roshan decided to go solo.

Hence, he teamed with his wife in an active company, Karos Medical Systems. He brought with him a huge customer base and years of knowledge and experience in sales, after sales, marketing, and repairs.

Karos Medical systems prospered through very difficult periods, recessions and competitors to name a few. In 2011, whilst in the midst of a poor market Karos Medical Systems had a need to expand their business premises. The property in Queensburgh was sold and our present property in Umhlanga Ridge, the hub of business activity, was purchased.

Karos Medical Systems has been through many challenges. We do not believe in quitting. We enjoy our business and enjoy a challenge. It keeps us on our feet and very abreast in the market. We aim to be around to support our faithful market who entrust us to keep them on point with trends in the market.

Customer service and satisfaction is integral to this company. We believe in keeping our customers happy. We achieve this by providing sales of the latest equipment. We keep a range of equipment to ensure it meets our client’s budget. We don’t compromise on quality. The equipment we market is of superior quality at competitive prices. We are ultimately judged by the quality of equipment we sell. We are often not the cheapest but still remain successful due to our business ethics.

We provide operator training to ensure our clients are using their equipment to the maximum potential. We provide after sales service. We have a permanent medical technician employed. We have a technical support vehicle for clients who want on-site service.

Our clients always come first. We aim for our clients to have minimal downtime. Ensuring our Gold Star Service attracts many referrals, which we depend on. There can be no greater advertising than a satisfied client.

2013 saw us acquire a partnership with General Electric Healthcare. A partnership we are very proud to have earned. We competed with many other companies for this prestigious partnership and we were elated when we were awarded the GE Healthcare partnership. We now market GE Healthcare imaging products. A feather in our cap.

 

Products & Services

Our diagnostic market includes 2D, 3D & 4D ultrasound, electrocardiographs and spirometry. We recently entered into the aesthetics market. Our aesthetics equipment comprise of Laser Lipolysis, Intensed Pulsed Light and Photo Dynamic Therapy.

Apart from marketing equipment, we also provide operator training to our clients on how to use the equipment. We ensure that they are capable of using the equipment to its full potential without causing injury.

The equipment we market is fully supported and maintained by ourselves. We have a trained and qualified technician. Spare parts form a part of our stock; if a unit breaks we always have spares in stock to reduce downtime of a unit. We have a technical vehicle to further enhance our support.

Further, we stock and supply all consumables used by our equipment.

Essentially, we provide a one stop service for our clientele, from sales through to operation, back up and support.
